ALL NEW FOR 2011!!! This three-hour webinar introduces a standards-based approach to grading in today’s world-language classroom. Based on students’ proficiency levels and the main content standards in foreign languages, this approach to grading attempts to pair more accurately a student’s abilities in the language with a tangible grade required by most schools and universities. This grading method also increases student learning and achievement by more precisely pinpointing in which skills a student excels and where they may need some improvement.

Power Grading™: The Complete System is a teachforjune™ Webversity™ course that will teach you how to create a standards-based grading system in your classroom and how to develop accurate and effective assessments that truly assess your students’ learning. This is a 5-week course that comprises over 15 hours of instruction divided over 5 webinar episodes.

Each week we will “meet” online to debrief the previous episode’s learning, learn a new component of the system, and have some time for some personal Q & A before you are invited to apply that new element in your classroom for two weeks before we meet again. Each episode is around 3 hours and is recorded so that you may review it at any time during the course.

You will also have access to a member-only, online forum so that you can connect with other Webversity™ participants and the instructor for encouragement, support, and questions as you work to apply and integrate each individual component.
